Kai looks after the computer that runs the Monster Market, an online shop. Tonight a part of the shop stopped, and nobody can pay. Kai tried to turn it back on, then had to go home. Kai left you the terminal and a note:
The shop is on market-web-01. Checkout is off. I tried to turn it back on twice, but it did not work. My lines are in the history. Kai
You do not need anything new. Every tool is from this chapter. Do not guess: the computer tells you what you need to know.
You have 15 minutes. The clock starts when you start the challenge. If the time runs out, you can still finish.
- Find out what is off. The shop has its own programs. Their names all start with
market-. You do not know them yet: let Tab list them. - Read Kai's lines. Show the history, then run Kai's two tries again by their numbers. Read each reply.
- Turn checkout back on. Each try got one thing wrong.
- Check your work. Show the status of the shop again.
Kai's other question
Kai also wants to know why checkout stopped. The shop wrote it down: run market-logs. The answer is one line out of more than a hundred.
