Two teams have been sharing this cluster. The Monster Market lives in shallows-c4iyy4; a sibling shop lives in bazaar-c4iyy4. Between them there are six Pods, and nobody has looked at the labels in weeks.
Start wide:
kubectl get pods -A --show-labelsCount the backends
The first objective asks how many Pods carry tier=backend across the whole cluster. Do not count by eye; let the selector do it:
kubectl get pods -l tier=backend -AClaim a Pod for team blue
market-web in shallows-c4iyy4 is now owned by team blue. Say so with a label:
kubectl label pod market-web team=blue -n shallows-c4iyy4
kubectl get pod market-web -n shallows-c4iyy4 --show-labelsRetire the legacy tier
Somewhere in the cluster, one Pod is still labelled tier=legacy. It should not exist any more. Find it with a selector, then delete it by name:
kubectl get pods -l tier=legacy -Akubectl delete pod <name> -n <namespace>The objective checks that no Pod with tier=legacy remains, so if you are not sure you got it, run the selector again. An empty answer is the one you want.
